Rubbermaid Commercial Products

Rubbermaid Commercial Products (RCP), headquartered in Winchester, Virginia, was established in 1967 to manufacture and market products for the commercial and institutional markets.

Throughout its almost 35 year history, RCP demonstrated leadership consistent with its heritage. In the 1970’s, RCP led in the technology conversion from metal and wood to plastic and in the 1980’s, it led in the development of high performance industrial and agricultural products. 1986 also saw RCP expand into the cleaning implements business with the acquisition of Seco Industries, a leading manufacturer of floor care products. In the 1990’s, commercial product focus turned to globalization and increasing its solution-based new product focus. 1995 saw RCP introduce a record number of new products and recorded receipt of ISO 9001 certification.

In 1999, Rubbermaid Inc. merged with the Newell Co. and formed Newell Rubbermaid Inc., a $7 billion global branded product powerhouse. Today, Rubbermaid Commercial Products is a division of Newell Rubbermaid Inc. It continues to develop innovative products and system solutions in the categories of food service, cleaning, safety, material handling, waste and agriculture. While manufacturing and distribution are handled from five facilities, four in the US and one in Mexico, RCP is represented in Latin America, Europe, Asia, Australia and the Middle East through a network of sales offices and authorized distributors.
