1976 was the centennial anniversary for the Harrington Company. 100 years before, Edwin Harrington purchased title to "letter patent" covering a wormgear hoist. This was the first improvement in a self-sustaining hoist since the Weston Differential hoist and a thriving business developed rapidly under the name Edwin Harrington & Son.
